I have a theory…
I have a theory that when you write a message that feels like a big swing for the fences, you are rewarded for how authentically you it is. Let me explain.
I’ve been on a streak of reaching out to the people that I want to work with, people who inspire me, and people who I have learned something from - with zero expectation.
I could literally never hear back from them or get rejected outright. And honestly? Who the hell cares. I’ve risked nothing, and there’s potentially a huge upside - even if that upside is just the confidence boost I get from doing something that feels kinda scary.
Here’s where I’m going with this: the more I lean into writing in my genuine, intuitive voice - from a heart led place - the higher my response success rate is.
Maybe it’s because people can sniff out inauthentic, ChatGPT generated messages a mile away. Maybe it’s because notable people are used to being pitched salesy messages. All. The. Time.
Here’s the other upside: sending a message that’s aligned and heart led just feels better. It feels flowy. It takes me 1/100th of the time that it would to craft the “most optimal” DM.
Just take the messy action. Write the message as authentically you - in your voice, with your tone. Because your gut will never lie to you. 🫶
